Karen made the motion to accept the treasurer’s report and Julie seconded it.  All approved. \n\nAZ ALPINE TRAIL UPDATE:   Nate gave the report and explained where the trail will go. \n\nLAST RIDED: Jane did the last ride and had to change some of the ride because 116 road was closed. Had lunch at the lookout tower \n\nNEXT RIDE: The next ride will be Saturday\, August 23rd.  We will meet at Sheep Coral.  We will be doing the Harris loop.  Should be an easy ride.  More to come Tuesday after the pre-ride\, watch for the email. \n\nNEW BUSINESS; no new business \n\n50/50 RAFFLE: No raffle this meeting. \n\nKaren made the motion to close the meeting at 6.40 p.m. and Nate seconded it.  All approved. \n\nJudy Koski\, Secretary

DESCRIPTION:WMOTA’s July ride is scheduled for Saturday\, July 19th.  We plan to start the ride at 9:00 am sharp\, so please arrive in plenty of time to unload and brief. \nThe club will be doing one of the versions of Slaughter Circle.  It’s all around the Big Lake area at elevation and should be cooler.  Here’s three seven-day weather forecasts for the Big Lake area.  These are three 7-day forecasts and as you can see there is not complete agreement\, so bring your rain gear.  Also\, bring your lunch and plenty of hydration. \n\n      Saturday Jul 19 Weather Forecast: \n\n Day: Partly cloudy with showers. High near 70. South southeast wind to 5 mph\, gusts to 12 mph. DESCRIPTION:WMOTA MEETING MINUTES\n July 10\, 2025\nJack Dyer called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. \nBoard members present: Jack\, Karen\, Don (Judy absent). \nNew members and guests were welcomed. \nSecretary: Motion to accept minutes of the previous meeting was made: Karen Kramer made the motion to accept and Jane Dyer 2nd. \nTreasurer: End of May checking book balance was $3\,533.59. Membership dues for June were $230. 50/50 raffle was $65. Total income for June was $280. Total expenses were $1\,400.05. June checking account balance was $2\,413.54. Loan to Alpine Trail was $6\,000. June balance is $8\, 463.54. \nKaren discussed needing help with social duties for club activities. Polly Wood will help with this. \nJerry discussed Alpine trail updates. Riders are needed to ride portions of the trail and give feedback. Nate will provide a form for riders to complete this. Maverick Trail still needs some remarking and signage updates. Future dates for this will be communicated via email and the club website. \nJerry and Jack thanked those who helped with the clean up near the Lone Pine Dam dump. It was a big success! \nThe June club ride was discussed\, and suggestions were made. It was decided that club members will bring their own lunches and eat during a designated stop. Club members thought it was best to avoid relying on restaurants during rides. It was suggested that during rides club members make sure to keep the riders behind them in sight to avoid riders becoming too widespread and losing people. If the group is too large\, it is possible to split into two groups. \nLorna discussed ranger programs at Fool Hollow. More information will be provided via email. \nNext club ride will be on July 19. Jane Dyer will lead. Information on the ride will be provided via email and the club website. \nNew Business: Karen Smith discussed ordering club shirts and other merchandise. She has a new source for this. Sign-up sheets were provided\, and future orders can be emailed to Karen Smith. The club does not profit from the sales of merchandise. \nDon suggested a class on patching tires\, since there was a problem with tires on the last ride. If there is enough interest\, he will investigate putting together a class. \nThe AZ State Parks ATV Ambassador program was discussed. If members are interested\, they can let Don know. More stickers still need to be replaced\, so there is more work to do! Thanks to all who helped. \nThe treasurer’s report was accepted: Jane Dyer made the motion to accept and Pam Wood 2nd. \nMay ride: Everyone had a good time\, and a new trail was discovered! \nWebsite Update: Nate went over info on how to register. The website is now up and running. Members are encouraged to register\, and let Nate know of any problems. \nThe meeting place for future WMOTA meetings was discussed. It was decided that meetings will continue to be held at Dickey’s. \nJerry discussed the Alpine Trail. The trail is a go! AZ state government officials are now involved and are helping to promote the trail. The complete plan for the trail should be done in December 2025. Rusty Childress will be the official photographer for the trail.  Thanks to everyone who helped with this project. The website for the trail is azalpinetrail.org. \nNew Business: Jack discussed the area near the Lone Pine Dam refuse dump. People have been leaving trash in the area near the dump. A clean-up day is planned for June 23\, 2025. The clean-up will be in the area near the dump. We have group members who are bringing flatbed trailers to haul trash\, but everyone is welcome to come and help. More information will be emailed to members. \nJune Ride: Chuck Wood\, Jr. will be leading the ride. June 19 is the date. Information has been emailed to members. Information will also be on the website. \nJack inquired as to interest in a night ride. We watched a video to help explain what it will be like.  Each person needs to register online to help set up the website. SUMMARY:WMOTA April Ride - "DATE CHANGE"

DESCRIPTION:This month’s WMOTA ride will be on Saturday 6/22/2024 leaving at 9:00am sharp. Please come early enough to unload\, brief and be ready to start on time. There will be donuts and Orange Juice\, but not coffee.  If you want coffee feel free to bring your own. The ride will be a modified version of the Slaughter Circle due to current Forest Service restrictions. This means we won’t be able to go to the Black River overlook as originally planned. The current forecast indicates that there is a good chance of rain on Saturday\, the ride will still take place. Make sure to bring your rain gear.  Remember\, it’s not uncommon for the temperature to drop during rain showers\, so layer your clothing.  Please make sure your machines are in good working order and bring lots of hydration and bring your lunch. For communications\, we are using FRS/GMRS channel 7 which is frequency 462.7125. \nDirections to the staging location: \nFrom the intersection of SR 260 and SR 273 (the turn off to Sunrise) go 14.3 miles.  Turn right on FR116 heading towards Reservation Lake (you will see a toilet facility on the right side).  FR409 goes left at this turn which is the second time you will see a FR409 going left off 273.  Follow FR116 for almost 1 mile just past the corrals.  WMOTA will be staging to the right as shown on this Google Map link: \nhttps://maps.app.goo.gl/YCjwSBaeq2LKnCC47

SUMMARY:WMOTA May Ride
DESCRIPTION:WMOTA May 18th club ride – lead by Chuck & Pam Wood and Nate & Beth Leonard. The ride will combine two events\, a fun club ride and recording of the AZAT A & B tracks between the Ski Hy parking area (Google Maps calls it Blue Ridge Mountain Trailhead) and Highway 260 (where the Fr 117 ends at Highway 260). Part of the trail development for the AZAT is the riding and recording of the actual trail segments. The ride will depart from the staging area at 9 am\, lunch will be at the Sheep Corral. Total ride distance will be approximately 78 miles. The ride will be easy with no challenging sections. The ride will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of the White Mountains. If time permits and anyone wants to ride to the top of Greens Peak\, that can happen. Remember\, machine full of fuel and in good running order\, snacks\, water\, and lunch. We will be using the “Rotation Meadow” for traffic control and operating radios on FRS channel 7 or 462.7125 frequency. \nAdditional Information: Take 260 in Pinetop to the light at Buck Springs Rd. then turn Left to Sky High Rd (FR182) for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 miles.
